TV REVIEW: Vampire Diaries - Homecoming

HOMECOMING

On the night of the Homecoming dance, Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) opens up to Elena about why the evening is so important to her, leaving Elena with conflicting emotions. Caroline and Matt are both shocked at Tyler's behavior throughout the evening. The night takes a surreal turn when Klaus puts his latest plan into action. Determined to outsmart Klaus, Damon enters into a dangerous partnership, leading to a terrifying turn of events. The band My Morning Jacket performs in the party scenes. Paul Wesley and Kat Graham also star. Joshua Butler directed the episode written by Evan Bleiweiss.

We have to wait until freakin JANUARY for new shows. GRRRRRRR!

So daddy Mikael, the Vampire Hunter is dead. Really who didn't see that coming? And who else was wondering if he killed Katherine? I figured she can't be gone that easily. Then I realized that Damon had plans of using her in Elena place. So I wasn't too surprised that "Elena" got up after Mikael stabbed her.

Elena steps up and shows some balls by staking Rebekah. I really hope that doesn't come back to "bite" her in the end. I think that Rebekah and Elena could become friends. We'll see.

The whole WTF moment with Stefan saving Klaus. I'm glad that they explained that at the end and not left it hanging. Stefan might have his humanity back but he is still thinking like a bad guy which I like. Let's not bring back the brooding Stefan too soon.

Now that Elena and Damon have let Stefan go maybe they will be holding on to each other more. {wiggles eye brows}

I can't believe that Caroline would give up on Tyler. He was trying to save her.

And as my final thought on the last nights show.... How will they kill any other original vamps, now that the special stake went up in flames with daddy dearest?

  1. Great episode...stupid winter break!!! I can't wait for January now. I agree about Rebekah...at first I didn't think she would be on the show very long or to this extent, but now I can see her staying around for a while (Katherine style). Remember, Stefan hasn't turned his humanity back, he just isn't compelled by Klaus anymore. Obviously his humanity is creeping back through...but I agree, I'm enjoying naughty Stefan much more than brooding Stefan.
