TV REVIEW: Vampire Diaries - Ordinary People

THE ORIGINAL FAMILY - With help from Elena and Bonnie, Alaric tries to decipher the meaning behind his recent discovery. Elena and Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) engage in a mean-girl power struggle, until Rebekah finally reveals some of her family's ancient secrets and the violent past she shares with Klaus and Elijah. Damon tries a reckless new approach to make a breakthrough with Stefan, and they're both surprised by an unlikely ally. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode with teleplay by Caroline Dries & Julie Plec and story by Nick Wauters.



I really enjoyed learning the history of how vampires came to be this week. It's interesting that it all started with this one family and the parents' fear of loosing more of their children.

We find out that Klaus really is a SOB. He is the one that really kill his mother and not Micheal.

Rebekah showed her "human" side this week. She might not be that bad after all. I think Elena realized that she and Rebekah have a lot in come. Loosing their mother at an early age, falling in love with Stefan, etc.

I love how Damon and Stefan are seeing that they are not the baddest vamps around. They are just kids to this family and Michael is the big daddy.

Damon and Elena had a very touching moment at the end of the show. Awww...Stefan's love for Damon is going to save him; not Elena's. Hee Hee.

This episode was definitely about family togetherness or how a family can betray you.

ROCK BAND MY MORNING JACKET PERFORMS - On the night of the Homecoming dance, Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) opens up to Elena about why the evening is so important to her, leaving Elena with conflicting emotions. Caroline and Matt are both shocked at Tyler's behavior throughout the evening. The night takes a surreal turn when Klaus puts his latest plan into action. Determined to outsmart Klaus, Damon enters into a dangerous partnership, leading to a terrifying turn of events. The band My Morning Jacket performs in the party scenes. Paul Wesley and Kat Graham also star. Joshua Butler directed the episode written by Evan Bleiweiss.
