REVIEW: Home for the Holidays

The Bite Before Christmas (Argeneau, #15.5; Night Huntress, #6.5)The Bite Before Christmas
by Lynsay Sands, Jeaniene Frost
eBook
Published October 25th 2011 by William Morrow
RATING: ★★★★
In Lynsay Sands' "The Gift," Katricia Argeneau knows grey-eyed cop Teddy Brunswick is her life mate. She just needs to convince him they belong together, and being snowbound in a secluded cabin will make this a Christmas neither will forget.

It's "Home for the Holidays" in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. Cat and Bones may long to wrap presents and set up a tree, but this Christmas, an evil vampire and long-buried family secrets will threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer.

REVIEW:

I only read Home for the Holidays since I've not read Sands' books yet. Most of the time these stories in anthologies don't really give away spoilers for series but I didn't want to take the risk. I'll come back and read The Gift once I've caught up on Sands' series.

Cat and Bones along with most of the gang are celebrating Bones' birthday in this short story when something goes wrong. Like an attack on Annette and a long lost family member shows up.

I loved this short so much more than the last full length novel, One Grave at a Time. We Cat and Ian working together to save the rest of the gang which was just a hoot.

He unzipped his pants and tugged them down. I whirled just in time, barking, "I don't care what you think, your junk does not have special abilities. And I already heard about the piercing," over my shoulder.

Not much can be said without spoilers but just know that fans of Frost's Nighthuntress series MUST read this novella.

Plus there is an excerpt at the back for Once Burned, Vlad's book that is due to release in the spring. YIPPEE!

  1. I loved this novella too! I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to say that it was better than the last book though! :P

I might take you up on your offer for to co-host an event next year. I originally had one for Holiday Foreplay but it didn't work out. Thanks for volunteering. :P
