REVIEW: Vampire Vacation by C.J. Ellisson

Vampire Vacation (The V V Inn, #1)Vampire Vacation
by C.J. Ellisson
Series: The V V Inn #1
Format: ebook
Published: October 10th 2010 by Red Hot Publishing
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Mystery
RATING: ★★★
Meet Vivian. She's a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.

Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests.

Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn't easy. Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets Vivian would kill to protect?

Warning: This story contains some explicit sex scenes and is not intended for readers under 18.

REVIEW:

I first saw Vampire Vacation on another blog that was reviewing it and it sounds fun and a fun cover. Then I saw it again as free Nook read from Barnes and Noble and decided to get it. After seeing getting a notice from Bewitching Book Tours that they were hosting a tour for the author I decided to sign up and finally read it. I was glad I did.

The concept of a Vampire Inn where vampires can get away and vacation in Alaska is something new. VV has some much going on, there is a touch of erotica with some pretty hot sex scenes between Viv and Rafe. As well as some teasing scenes with some of the other characters. Then you have the paranormal aspect and a mystery to be solved.

I really enjoyed reading VV by Ellisson but I can't quite give it 4 stars because I just felt like something was missing but I can't put my finger on it. But I cannot wait to start book 2, The Hunt. Maybe I'll find what was missing in book 1.

If you are in the mood for a fun and sexy mystery with vampires and a hot werewolf give Vampire Vacation to try.

Vampire Vacation is available at:

I bought my copy from B&N.

Make sure you come back later in the week for my review of book 2, The Hunt and then next week for my interview with the author.

  2. This sounds good, but you know I've read another synopsis that had the Alaskan retreat for vampires things...I'm going to have to track it down. How odd. - XOXO Parajunkee
