Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia.

Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

I love Angel's character growth in this series so far and I hope she continues to become even more awesome in the next book. One thing some characters lack in other series is that they stay the same (boring!). She knows she was a looser before becoming a zombie but she is working hard to be a better…person….zombie. Yes she was a high school drop out with a shitty home life and a pill popper but unlike one of the heroines in another great urban fantasy series, she is not whiny about it.

When we last left Angel she had found out some things about the zombie world but she was still pretty clueless to the bigger picture. In this sequel, she finds out more about the zombie world, and probably more than she wanted by the time it’s all over with.

Angel has to deal with continuing issues with her dad’s drinking and the fact that some people in town still sees her as the high school drop out looser that she use to be.

After Angel is held up at gun point at the morgue but some guy there to steel a body that she just picked up from a scene, she is seen as a slacker by some that think her story of a body robbery is made up because she lost the body.

". . . Sweet zombie Jesus, I was fucking invincible."

Angel and some of the old gang work on trying to solve the case of the stolen body and while doing so get involved in a mad science/government plot to make an unstoppable army of…..zombies.

"Yeah, well I ate his brain." I leaned back and laced my fingers behind my head. "Motherfucker shot me. I couldn't let that shit slide.”

Rowland has once again sucked me into her zombie world and fully entertained me. I cannot wait for the third book, White Trash Zombie Apocalypse to be released in 2013.

    1. I love the cover art. I have both books on audio and that's how I "read" them. But when I was at AADNOLA I picked up both books (signed)because I loved the covers so much. LOL
