My Favorite Place to Travel
I often get asked where my favorite place to travel is. That’s easy. I actually have two. Okay, make that three. Well, how about four. I’m stopping at four. I promise.
Oh, and I’ll let you in on a little secret. In Vail Village, when you make your last run of the day down Riva Ridge (the longest run at Vail...about four miles) you walk off the slopes and right after you cross the covered bridge, on your right is the greatest place called The George. They have the best apres ski drinks...you know those hot kinds with whipped cream on top? Yum! I’ll be there the first week in March and how about I have one for you?
My second favorite place to travel is Cabo San Lucas. I love it there. The mountains meet the sea in amazing splendor. And talk about meeting places. That point where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean...you know, it’s called El Arco and it’s pictured on just about everything...is positively enchanting. You want to stand and stare at it with your mouth hanging open. I’m quite sure that’s what I did both times I was there. You just never get tired of looking at it. The food is amazing and the people are the greatest of anywhere I’ve ever been in the world. And romantic...whew! Let me tell you. If you never do anything else in your life, take a private sunset cruise in Cabo. It will change your life forever. Enough said.
My third and fourth favorite places I’m going to combine because they’re very similar. They’re both in the Caribbean and I’m a Caribbean fan. St. John and St. Martin. Great fun, turquoise waters, perfect food and drinks, amazing weather, scuba diving, blah blah blah. You get the idea.
I’ve been very fortunate to have traveled to many places. There are many more I want to visit though, but these four I keep returning to. Vail is my annual visit and maybe next year I will be spending my first winter there because a few weeks a year is just not enough skiing for this girl. Happy trails!

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodgeball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what lap top out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone and hit #4 on her speed dial.
