Review:
What an awesome introduction to the Rulers of Darkness series by the self-published author, Amanda J. Greene. She does an excellent job of world building and character development.

Caressed by Moonlight is a mix of historical and erotic paranormal romance. The setting is in the 1800s, London, where all it takes is a rumor to destroy a lady's reputation in society. The lady in question is Victoria, the heroine of Caressed by Moonlight. She is left to take care of her much younger sister Margaret after the death of their parents.

Victoria is forced to leave the country after selling all of the family's belongings to pay off her late father's debts. The sisters go to London in hopes that their bitch of an aunt will take them in.

Aunt Nelly can't stand Victoria because of past reasons so she tells her the only way she will ever be able to see Margaret again is to wed within a month.

Victoria turns to an old friend for help in seeking out a suitable husband in such a short time so that she can take Margaret away from their loathsome aunt.

While husband hunting at many social events, Victoria meets Dorian. He is a well known playboy Prince from a foreign country. But as the two get to know each other, his true nature is revealed.

Victoria is sucked out of her normal world and thrown into the world of vampires, witches and shifters in this very well written novel.

Now I'm not much for historical books but that was not a problem for me while reading Caressed by Moonlight. Some period novels can have such BLAH dialogue that I lose interest in the story. But Ms. Greene did a great job of balancing the 1800s lingo.

I highly recommend this read to anyone that likethe paranormal genre, strong heroines and sexy vampires. Also must share the fact that I was in the middle of reading a very well known author which will remain nameless, when I started Caressed by Moonlight and I quickly put down Dead Reckoning (oops) I mean the book I was currently reading to finish up Ms. Greene's master piece.
