Uptight history professor Sam Layton may have the abs of a movie action hero, but he stopped believing in the joy of adventure a long time ago. However, when a one-night stand with a tattooed bombshell leads to a treasure map for the long-buried Rebecca’s Bounty, the call to action is too strong to ignore. All

Las Vegas cocktail waitress Josie Winarsky wants to do is paint. But when she lands smack dab in the middle in a mob plot, she has to push aside her dreams to find a treasure in Dry Creek, Nebraska and save her family from harm. With Sam at her side and a Vegas loan shark on her tail, the treasure she finds turn out to be much more valuable than emeralds and rubies.

REVIEW:

Josie and Sam steam up the pages in the 3rd installment of The Layton Family Series by Avery Flynn and fans of contemporary romance with a little suspense edge will enjoy reading Passion Creek.  I've read the 2nd book, Seduction Creek (formally titled Dry Creek Bed) and we get a glance at Sam and Josie at the end but it's not necessary to have read Seduction Creek to enjoy Passion Creek. But both books are good and I plan to go back and read book 1, Temptation Creek.

Josie and Sam share a hot night in Vegas after she walks away from her job as a cocktail waitress where she hits one of her customers over the head for grabbing her breast.

Josie noticed the tall drink of water named Sam at the poker table and then later has a drink with him at the casino bar. One thing leads to another and the two are hot and heavy in his hotel room. But Josie doesn't go back for seconds with any guy. She's all about the one night stands to keep her heart safe.

When Sam finds out that Josie has plans to head to his home town, Dry Creek, he thinks that she is working with someone to find out information about a family secret treasure that people, including him, in his family have been looking for decades.

Josie is a painter at heart and was hoping to go to Dry Creek to get her painting mojo back but after learning that her bother is in trouble with a loan shark and that she must pay his loan back to save their parents Josie thinking that Sam's treasure hunt is not a bad idea. But she can't get Sam out of her mind; she keeps dreaming about him and their one night that shared in Vegas.

Sam is a straight lace professor in the small town of Dry Creek and ever since his one night stand with Josie he can't get her out of his mind. She is the opposite of what he wants in his life, chaos. But damn if he doesn't need a like chaos to shake up his boring life.
