Story Time With The Book Nympho - Dr Seuss Edition

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday (March 2) we have been reading nothing but our Dr. Seuss books all week long at bedtime.

This man was an evil genius or was on so much acid when he wrote his books. I have never felt so dumb as when I read his tongue twisting books out loud.

“When beetles fight these battles in a bottle with their paddles and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles... ...they call this a muddle puddle tweetle poodle beetle noodle bottle paddle battle.”
 - Fox in Socks

I LOVE this part of the book. I often what to skip to it but my son won't let me.

“Day Play We play all day. Night Fight We fight all night.”
- Hop on Pop

“I do not like green eggs and ham I do not like them Sam-I-Am.”
“Try them, try them, and you may! Try them and you may, I say.”
- Green Eggs and Ham

“Look at me! Look at me! Look at me NOW! It is fun to have fun But you have to know how.”

- Cat and the Hat

The Mayor of Who-ville: I have 96 daughters and 1 son.
Horton: [laughing] Whoa! Busy guy.

Horton: I meant what I said, and I said what I meant.
Morton: [sighs] An elephant's faithful one hundred percent.
Horton: That's my code, my motto.

“A person's a person, no matter how small.”
-Horton Hears a Who (book quote)

What is your favorite Dr. Seuss story?

  1. A Fly Went By. I bet my mom could still recite by heart. I made her read it to me a lot as a kid.
