Another great hot read in the VET series by Heaton. This time around the romance doesn't happen in the theatre.
Callum, vamp that works for the theatre is out scouting new performers in Paris. That where he sees a sexy werewolf in a club. He has been watching her for a few nights and must meet her.
Kristina, the sexy werewolf, notices a hot guy has been watching her at the clubs and realizes he is a vamp. And even though the two races pretty much hate each other she is curios to find out why he has been watching her.
After they two share a kiss on the dancer floor, Callum scares Kristina off when he accidentally nips her with his fangs. She runs from him into the arms of a nearby werewolf. Only to be more scared by what she finds in his arms.
Callum comes to her aid and the next thing she knows they are having some down and dirty fun in a prevent booth at the club.
The two spend a week together getting to know everything about each other. Not just how to pleasure each other's bodies.....

REVIEW:
Demonically Tempted picks up where Supernaturally Kissedleft off. Tess is still in a relationship Kipp, a hot ghost of a Memphis cop. I'm sure you are wondering how a human can have a relationship with a ghost, much less a sexual relationship with one. Well let's just say that they have to be creative.
Tess's ability to see and speak with ghosts comes in handy when trying to solve murder cases. And after Tess helped the police department solve a case in the last book, she is now on the payroll working on cold cases.
But Tess doesn't know how she power works so the head of the department, Max, enlisted the help of a medium that works with the FBI. Enter Dane, the sexy medium that can be a totally jerk. Kipp is not happy about Dane showing up but he keeps reasons from Tess which leads her to think that he is jealous of him.
But through Dane, Tess learns there are more than just ghosts out there. Like witches and demons.
While I loved the first book in the series, Supernaturally Kissed, I found that it took me about halfway through Demonically Tempted to really get into it. I think it was that DT feels like a bridge book. We need to read it to help build up to the 3rd book in the series. I think the romance was a little lacking but since Tess and Kipp are together and is strong a couple. I don't believe that romance was the main focus for this installment. Also I was missed the presence of Tess's spunky friend but she makes an appearance late in the book.
I had a major prediction about things that was going on with Kipp in the first book and I got my answer in DT. Now I have no idea where Kennedy is going to take us next in Kipp's journey. But I'm excited to find out.
Over all Demonically Tempted is an enjoyable read and if you have not checked out this series you really should. It's written very well and has some great characters and has a promising future in the story line department.

Ann Mayburn never fails to make me reach for my B.O.B. (Battery Operated Boyfriend) while I'm reading her books. Blushing Violet had me blushing in some places and if I where single it would have me running to my computer to sign up for an online dating service. Especially if I would be as lucky as Violet and end up with not one but two hot doms like Carlos and Morgan.
This hot novella is not just about the slap and tickle. I found myself caring about the characters and hoping for them to have their HEA. Before I started reading BDSM I thought that people that lived that lifestyle were freaks but the way that Mayburn shapes her characters and worlds it makes me think differently. Not that I'm running out to get my own things to setup a playroom but I can see how the D/S relationship is really built on trust that can lead to love like Violet's story with Carlos and Morgan.
If you have never read anything in the BDSM genre and want to try it out, Blushing Violet is a safe, lite BDSM read with funny and lovable characters. Visit Ann's website toread chapter one.

REVIEW: Covet is my first Felicity Heaton book and I LOVED it. I’ve had Her Dark Angel on my Nook waiting for me to read it. After reading this hot novella, I will be moving it up my TBR!
Covet is mix of romance, hot monkey sex and blood. And it all takes place in a vampire owned and ran theatre. But this isn’t any theatre; they don’t do plays or operas here. No they put on erotica shows for the elite vampires. There’s sex and feeding on stage to have the audience coming back for more and more.
These vampires have a monster hiding within them and if they are not careful their meal doesn’t live at the end of the feeding.
Lilah is a human servant of a rich aristocrat vamp that has sent her to the theatre to work. Javier is one of the owners of the theatre and he has lusted after Lilah for the two years she has worked for him. But because of her bond to her master she is off limits per the vamp law.
After staying away from Lilah and his desire for her; Javier can’t control himself any longer. When he finds her in the balcony boxes cleaning during a show, he finally gets to pleasure the sweet Lilah but he is surprised to find out that she has the same feelings for him.
In order not to give you more of the plot or spoilers the two have some hot monkey sex and share their feelings for each other while hoping that Lilah’s master doesn’t take their future away from them by taking Javier’s head.
If you are looking for a hot quick read with great characters pick up Heaton’s Covet today. I'm looking forward to the second novella in this series, Crave.

REVIEW:
I received Dante’s Dairy from the author for a review. It took me a few months to actually pick it up to read and then it took me about a month to read it. I just couldn’t get into the proper mood to read it.
The overall story was interesting but how it was told through a diary set up has you jumping around in Ivana’s life during different times. The POV changed from Dante telling Ivana’s story through what he had personally seen and what he had read in her diary then it would switch to Ivana telling her story through present time and her memories of older parts of her life.
Some of the present day (1980s) entries read like “old” times. I had to keep looking at the dates to make sure they were set in modern times.
Dante’s Dairy was slow paced for most of the book and the vampires are not the romantic type that you see in most books. They are downright scary and gory, at least in their feeding habits. No nice little bites here and sip, sip there. Their prey doesn't walk away without a memory of being someone’s meal. They don’t walk away period! And blood was not the only thing the vamps ate. (Brains) But it was a nice change to see them as the monsters that old myths pictured them to be.
I had a really hard time with the rating on this book. The plot is a 3 but the way the author chose to tell the story (diary style) is more like a 1 so I split the difference and gave it a 2 1/2.
If you want to experience a different type of vampire story then try out Dante’s Dairy.

Daughter of Lust is Mayburn's first book in the For the Love of Evil series. And if the other books are as good as this one it will be a very hot and exciting series.
Daughter of Lust has elements of a historical setting that quickly moves to a paranormal/fantasy world that moves between Earth and Hell. Mayburn does an unique spin on demons and angels and mythology of Heaven and Hell.
The main character, Natalia has grown up in Kazan, Russia in the 1800s on a small farm with her mother and the man the believes to be her father. Her papa has turned to drinking and gambling since the lost of her brother. It's up to Natalia to keep the family a float and she often has to go looking in the sleazy parts of town to find her papa and bring him home.
One night she is looking for him in one of the gambling dens when she meets a dangerous and gorgeous man. With her quick thinking and instinct she didn't know she had; she gets herself out of a violence situation.
After she is home she cannot believe the feelings of lust and violence that came over in the gambling den and she starts having erotic dreams about the man that she meet there.
Later Natalia learns that the man she has called father all her life is not her real papa but that Asmodeus, a demon High Prince in Hell is her true father. After Natalia hears that she is half demon and that feelings of lust she is having is natural; she has an internal war with her human and demon sides. She was raised to believe that having these lustful thoughts were a sin.
As Natalia starts to come to turns with her demon side she falls in love with not one man but three. One human and two demon. And where there is more than one hot man/demon you know that there are smoking hot love scenes. And let me tell you, Mayburn delivers. Daughter of Lust had me reaching for *B.O.B more that once if you know what I mean.
I loved Mayburn's characters and world building and I cannot wait for the next book in the For the Love of Evil series. I would recommend Daughter of Lust to anyone that enjoys reading paranormal romance with a little historical twist.

The Secret Guide to Dating Monsters is the prequel to Something Secret This Way Comes {I've not read SSTWC yet but once I'm done with this review I'm running over to B&N and ordering it for my Nook!!} This is a fast pace novella about Secret McQueen, a half vampire, half werewolf assassin for the Vampire Council.
And since Secret is non-human and has a dangerous job she rarely gets the chance to go out on a date like a regular gal. But when her friend Mercedes fixes her up on a blind date with Detective Tyler she decides to go.
But while she is getting ready for her date, her liaison with the Council and ex-GQ model, Holden shows up to give her, her next assignment. After Holden insists that she keep her date, she learns that the kill order is on an A-list Hollywood actor that just happens to be a rouge vampire.
So not only does she find herself on a date with a guy that she actually likes but she has to find a way to keep him in the dark about her job and to carry out her mission without bring attention to the public that vampires are real.
Even though this a novella it has the feel of a novel and it has great characters and a couple of great fight scenes plus one steamy scene between Secret and .... {you'll have to read it to find out}
I highly recommend this novella to anyone that likes a kick ass, sarcastic heroine with a snarky hot male vamp as a "partner". Fans of these series: Riley Jensen {by Keri Author}, Jaz Parks {by Jennifer Rardin} and The Chicagoland Vampires {by Chloe Neill} will want to read this series by Sierra Dean.
