Steampunk Meal Time ?!

My hubby loves to watch Epic Meal Time and I've watched it a few times. The general idea? Bacon and more Bacon.

This time they are doing it Steampunk style and adding in Vamps, Werewolves and Zombies. (yeah that's why I'm sharing it. For the PNR elements not for the ...... BACON)

UPDATE: Fun Icons

Found the Zombie icon.

I grabbed this one from Zombie and Horror Movies. They have a few FREE zombie cartoons and I liked this one the best.

Found Steampunk too.

Any ideas on Dystopian icons? I'm new to Dystopian and Steampunk but they seem to crossover a bit.

Came home to a Nook Color today. Hubby decided to upgrade me for an early birthday present (Oct 5th). I currently have the gen-one Nook so I'll be giving that one to my mom.

Does Size Matter? Book Size!

I had to run to the store on my lunch break today and I stopped by the books (of course) to see what they had. And I noticed there were these weird size books. The "new" size is more square looking. I found the same book in both sizes "old" and "new" and put them side by side to take a pic. 

The size is more noticeable in width than height. 

I showed a co-worker the pic. She asked if the inside print was different. I told her I didn't look (I was in a hurry and didn't think about that). 

If you look at the top picture you can see there is a price difference. 

The pictured book (Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos) is published by Avon. So I don't know if that publisher is changing sizes or if others are doing it too. There was about 6 different titles that was this size but I didn't think to look to see if they were published by Avon also.

I looked it up on Amazon and found this:

I feel the old header goes with the whole Nympho thing but the new header goes with the tag line "rejecting reality". I really like some of the headers on other blogs that use the "cartoon" chicks but not in my budget right now to purchase the artwork.

B&N's New Nook

Barnes and Noble announces yet another Nook.

It's all touch screen and has e-ink. They claim that the new battery life will hold a charge for 2 months. And it's light weight.

I have the 1st Edition Nook.

And I love it. My only complaint is the battery life, it does not last the 10 days they claim. So the longer battery life would be nice and the lighter weight would be a plus too.

But I'll stick with my Nook and if something happens to it I will replace it with the newer Nook and not Nook Color. I prefer the e-ink to the color screen. I sit in front of a PC all day and when I read I want a break from the bright LCD screens.

Finally a children's book I would want to read
