You listen to a lot of audio books. How did you get into audio books? Is it your preferred method of reading and if so, why is that?
I got into audios because I was sick of listening to the same old music at work so I thought why not try audios to make my work day go by faster. I started with a Sookie Stackhouse book for a reread to get ready for the upcoming True Blood series (book #3, Season #3). Then I moved on to Charley Davidson series and then I got an audible.com account and it just blew up from there.
Are they my preferred methon of reading? At first no. They were just a way to tune out co-workers talk about sports (at the time I worked with mostly guys). Then after I found some great narrators, I really got into them. Lately I've been lazy with my reading and if it wasn't for audios I would only get 1 book a week read. Audios are great for helping me get my TBR list down.
If you had to read just one genre from this point forward, which would it be?
Before my answer would have been Paranormal Romance but I'm getting burn out on the instant love and the same plot over and over so I'm going to go with Urban Fantasy. The genre has a little bit of everything; mystery, action and sexual tense and even in some UF books full on sex.
How long have you been a reader? Have you been a bookworm since childhood or is it something that came later?
I HATED to read when I was younger. I got into a reading kick one summer in high school where I read a lot of R.L. Stine books but then after that I didn't pick up another book for fun until 2008 when I saw the Twilight movie trailer and then found out it was based on a book (I know I was living under a rock and not heard of this series) so I grabbed a copy to read before I saw the movie and after that I've been a reader.
Of course I've moved on to much better and HOTTER books. I average 1-3 books a week now.
What has been your favorite read of 2013 so far?

Man Titty Cover!!! |
Do you prefer man titty covers or covers that have items that can be found on a men's dresser?
What's something you've learned from reading romance? Something you've learned from reading urban fantasy?
UF - Fight scenes can lost longer and be more fun than some sex scenes.
Coffee or chocolate? (You can only pick one.)

I feel the same way you do about audiobooks. I havent gotten onto audible yet, I've still been scavenging my library but eventually I'll probably get there. Audiobooks are so perfect for riding on the bus or train for me, expecially since I get car sick.
ReplyDelete*expecially since I get car sick if I read while in the car or on the bus
ReplyDeleteI got a feeling, Cut and Run, is better in print. I don't think you would have loved it as much if had listened. It seems the narration did not do it justice going by all the high ratings I see on Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteWow! Finding the same pleasure in sex and violence.... How kinky...LOL
I am with you and love me some man titties all the way.
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether to be proud or annoyed that you picked Cut & Run, since it took you so long to read it --and now you refuse to read the second one...
ReplyDeletesigh. There's not pleasing (points up) her!
DeleteLove your answers but since we're roasting you and all...WTF are "unless nipples"??? I swear autocorrect will be the death of you, man hands.
ReplyDeleteI am a visual person and enjoy reading but I've gone back and forth with trying out an audio book. What are some books/series that were your favorite as audio books?
USELESS nipples damn it! LOL
DeleteElemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep.
Downside Ghosts by Stacia Kane.
Come back later for Hot Listen's audio book interview to find out more. ;)
LOL Yes there ARE a lot of words for private bits aren't there? Glad to hear that you've come around and are now able to finally appreciate an UF fight scene. Stomp vs Romp will be the true test...
ReplyDeleteThe best scenes are the fight scenes that finish with sex. LOL
Deletegreat interview! I have yet to pop my m/m cherry, still not sure I wanna go there. I'm so with you on your romance and UF lessons, the terms for genitalia never cease to make me laugh :) But seriously, you really do need to get moving on the highlander and hollows series. Both series get better as the series continues. Let's just pick up some of the highlander books now, I'm kinda missing my MacKeltars... Book Savvy Babe
ReplyDeleteI have all the Highlander books on my shelf. I just need to get into the mood to read them.
DeleteYou can pop your M/M cherry with Lover at Last (BDB).
Cut & Run is good one too. The sex is not really graphic. It may get more graphic in other books.
(She wouldn't really know, though... She hasn't read any of the other books.)
DeleteKeep it up.....My turn to return the roasting favores is coming....
DeleteThe Highlander books are pretty good so far. I'm so adding Cut & Run. Great interview!
ReplyDeleteI love how you incorporated 'man titties' into the title of the post! I wasn't already a reader either. You're reading history is very similar to mine :)
ReplyDeleteAnd chocolate FTW!!
Nothing grabs peeps attention like Man Titties. LOL
DeleteThanks for being part of the roast.
